Ok then,
So what's all this about ...I'm starting this thread as way to share information about a project that J.Fast & I are collaborating on.
J. mentioned the project here in this thread:http://www.3sgto.org/showthread.php?...ensor-Function
and I figured I'd go ahead and start an official thread on the project since the words out.
This project has it roots when I started it about 6 months ago with the desire to retrofit the Mitsu OEM ECS struts system into my '98VR4. I hated the stock non-ECS '98 suspension. After doing some initial research, I was more than happy to go with the OEM controllable struts - but was not thrilled about having to retro in the OEM ECS control unit and system. It seemed prone to failure and didn't have the controls I wanted.
So I decided to build a new one that worked the way I wanted it - Manual control with the option to build in automated functions later. Here's a thread on www.colorado3s.org about the actual retrofit into my '98: http://www.colorado3s.org/index.php/topic,398.0.html. Before going any further I'd just like to acknowledge DrGonzo, 98Slept, Saiba31123 and J.Fast for helping out with all the info and feedback they gave me for the first phase.
So towards the end of the first project J. Fast is looking at it going..hmmmm....why not let's build one to control the Aero surfaces too - which I hadn't thought about since my '98 doesn't have that either and that's how the project was born. It's a cool idea because in the OEM versions the two controllers are separate - our goal is to expand on the phase I controller and add to it so that it will provide the ability to synchronize the suspension system with Active Aero System behavior as well as give centralized manual control
Here's duplicate links to what was already posted in the other thread.
Phase I: Early Prototyping was done with "old style" TTL logic control circuits
