Well, sad news. She finished her antibiotics then took a turn for the worse. I took her to the vet yesterday and she had a pretty bad case of distemper. vet said she had maybe a 15% chance at a full recovery. We put her down and it was the 1st time i shed a tear in a long time. She will be missed.

Thanks, it kind of sucked to have to do it but she was going down hill fast. She lost 2# because she wouldn't eat at all. He said in 2 - 3 weeks the disease would have taken over her nervous system and she would just twitch/shake uncontrollably then eventually she would have died. Putting her down was the right thing to do to ease her pain.

I held her paw as he injected the medicine into her vein and she just fell asleep. Hope i never have to do that ever again.

Only good news is that Gunner (black/tan one) has been vaccinated against this disease and the vet said there is very little chance that he will get it even though they were together every day for the last month.

Aww, Phil....I am so sorry. I know that nothing said will ever make it better, but at least she had a wonderful time with you in your loving house before she went.
