Does bottoming out cam seals cause any problems?

I'm finally getting back to my build after a 5 years break. I was looking over my work from back then and remembered that I bottomed out the camshaft seals and caps when I installed them for some reason. Has anybody here done this and had any issues?

It will leak like a mofo if you leave it like that. Seals need to be at the proper depth.
