    Gearbox full of neutrals?

91 RT/TT - Fired the car up today after sitting for 5 months in storage.

Gear shifter felt a little weird, but car started normally. The car won’t come out of neutral and thus won’t move! I checked the linkages at the base of the gear selector and also at the shift fork. The cables move, the shift fork moves, but it’s clear there’s no “ka-chunk” action as the shift fork moves around. Almost like the shift fork isn’t connected down inside the trans.

    Any ideas?

Make sure the shaft in the middle of the shift arm is actually turning. Your roll pin may be gone or broken.

The roll pin was indeed gone! I replaced it with a bolt and nut, car shifts now. Thanks again!
