Agreed. This car has so much potential to show the world what mass production can do to high end performance car prices.

I've got my eyes on a 2015 z06 ATX. we'll see when prices get "reasonable".

I have decided that my heart is set on a convertible E-Ray. Hardtop convertible + (estimated) 600 AWHP in a Corvette.

And now I suppose you want to have an extended discussion about the merits of "E", Vette or otherwise.

Talk to me after the election.
Ranked No. #1 in initial quality

Idiots, simply by being idiots, seem capable of achieving randomly bad things that are beyond the imaginings of sensible people.

The only part of electric that appeals to me is the acceleration and lack of noise. I'm actually trying to get a plug-in motorcycle right now. I've actually thought an AWD vette, camaro or mustang (not the goddamn mach-e) would be nice--and the hardtop being a thing now...is icing on the cake.

But hell, I'll probably be retired by the time I can afford one. Even the regular coupe stingrays are going for 30k over MSRP.

I think the only electric conveyance in my future might be a wheelchair.

    Not quite yet, though.

Anyone see they "Accidentally" released the E-Ray on the Corvette configurator?

No official announcement still. Really feels like the E-Ray will be akin to the Grand-Sport. So what if it doesn't have the peak HP of the Z06. I'd rather have the AWD anyways. Put that in a Z06 body with the high-rise wing--and I'll be in heaven.

And by the time they're actually widely available--my finances might finally catch up.

    https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a4...-ray-revealed/

    655hp. 590tq. Combined figures for hybrid + LT2 in the Eray. 0-60 in 2.5s.

    670hp. 460tq. C8 z06. 0-60 2.6s.

IDGAF if the convertible is 2 tons. AWD, hardtop convertible and 600+ HP was always the dream. The fact it can put down 130+ more TQ than the z06 and nearly as much HP--is delicious. This car is a dream come true. Now all that's left is putting one in my garage. Someday.

I only hope that the seats and ride quality are befitting a grand-tourer.

    I can't imagine such a beast.

If I ever even see one, it will be a remarkable event.

Of course, I'm not about to go looking for one, either, so that will be my fault.

You'll have to stand for all manner of video, etc., to furnish the vicarious thrill I expect.

I will give the exhaust note a miss...
