3000gt vr4 no power or ground going to cam position sensor.

OK i have a 1992 3000gt vr4 i got in a trade for another car the guy said it just all of a sudden didn't run right or not at all, i started to check wiring and found out that cam position sensor does not have power or ground, i need to know what powers the cam position sensor or what would cause this problem if someone knows. i really don't know a hole lot about these cars, never even heard of one until i got this one. so please help if you can i'm puzzled on what to do.

Take a look at the service manuals for 92-96 models here (volume 1 is mechanical stuff, volume 2 is electrical): https://www.3sx.com/tech-manuals-ser...ical-reference

In volume 1 page 13A-227 is a guide to testing the camshaft position sensor.
From what I can tell it gets it power from the MFI relay (which is located on the passenger side of the center console in the interior). The power from the MFI relay is fed to the camshaft position sensor thru pin 3 of the harness side of the camshaft position sensor.
It gets it ground from the harness side of the connector on the Camshaft position sensor, pin 1)

This should at least get you started, and you will know where to access service manuals for free.

    Good Luck,

    Bob.
