    It's raining.

    Mission accomplished.

Trying to figure out photo upload, Apple decided I needed an update, blah, blah, blah...

The upshot is it seems whatever fancy/extra-special washer fluid I was using raped the rubber seal/seat for the float/sensor and mucked things up.

Pictures pending my success with itunes...this part is important, cuz beer, I guess, right?

    I called all bets off.

Did you get it in leak free? (Curiosity)

I've replaced at least 4...mostly for floats.

Part out replacement tanks are the cheapest, most efficient way to go....but they are usually the same age as the one you're replacing.

    Roll the dice...

Leak-free - so far, about five hours post-op.

The pics (if they ever load) will show the swollen/porous internal end of the seal - still intact and connected to the outside part.

Had to be some long-term reaction to the fluid I used - it was more green than blue??

Been so long I have no recollection as to brand - using that orange Rain-X stuff these days...

I knew from the good condition of the seal of the float I sent you that you wouldn't have an issue.

    Good shape, Brian, you bet.

Still only want to do it once; it probably took 20 minutes and a couple of teaspoons of soap/lube - and a bit of patience.

Another instance which demonstrated my failing eyesight - got an appt early July for that...

Beware of the eye appointment rescheduling. I've heard they use the excuse "they can't see you."

    FWIW-

I don't really know if the washer fluid I was using (Rain-X Bug Remover) was what caused the float-seal to swell and crap out or not, but that's what was in the reservoir, so.

Maybe it was just age; what do I know about that...
