Is there a particular link I need to click to purchase or do I just need to send PayPal and put a note as to what it is for? If the latter what is the PayPal address I need to send to?

    Thanks

I removed the Paypal link, as I don't have any complete kits available at the moment. I plan to visit USA tomorrow, or Friday, and pick up some cigarette power adapters so I can have complete kits available. Paypal link will be restored when I have some available again.

Ok, that makes sense. I look forward to having them available again. I've got several 90's Mitsubishi's in my life right now that could use this. LOL

Payment sent for tool and both cables. Thanks again Ant. I look forward to receiving this even though my car is still in pieces. I'll get to try it out on some DSM's in the meantime though.

    Thank You Antero!
Received the scan tool as promised yesterday, and it worked like a charm to clear my son's SRS light.
Haven't had time to play with it more, but I'm sure it will deliver as promised.

    Again, thanks,

    Bob.

Hey Ant. Got my scan tool a few days ago and I had a question or two that I would like some help on so I don't screw something up. I downloaded the manual but I'm still a little confused.

In the manual you are calling it an add-on which I assume it started out as, or can even be used as, but it helps in my confusion. Where does the stand alone screen plug into? Does it plug into the DB9 connector on the box? Does it connect to the DB9 cable coming out of the box? Does it matter?

Also what is the purpose of the second power plug in on the additional DB9 extension?

I feel like I may be asking dumb questions here LOL but any help is appreciated.

EDIT: I knew I was asking dumb questions. I looked at the pics in your threads and verified correct hook up, but I'd still like to know the significance of the additional DB9 plug and power cord. Is that to go the LCDBC if you are so equipped?

Sorry, I haven't made a manual for this new scantool yet. The touchscreen screen plugs into the white cable that is coming out of the "LCDBC addon blackbox".

What you refer to as "DB9 extension" is what is used to program the touchscreen screen when new updates are made available. When programming the touchscreen scantool, it is separated from the "LCDBC Addon blackbox", and the short DB9 cable is the programming cable. The touchscreen scantool can't be programmed without power, so that is why the "programming cable" has a power connector. The programming cable isn't required for normal use, but seeing as this is a new product, there will be future software updates.

Edit: If you're referring to the extra male DB9 connector on the "LCDBC Addon blackbox" -- it's purpose is for those OBD1 cars that have been retrofitted with a 98/99 Flash ECU/Chrome ECU and have a second OBD port (specifically, the upgraded ECUs that use a conversion harness, and not the Jester ECU). This way they can have both OBD1 and OBD2 ports simultaneously.

Thanks. I didn't even think about software updates being the purpose.

Can't wait to try it out on my cousins Laser, and even his wife's 98 TSI (once I swap the jumpers around of course )

Got lots of Mitsubishis in my life to try it on. LOL
