    Glass headlights-reassembly questions

I found a set of glass headlights and am almost ready to put them back together. But I have a couple of questions

    1) I read that to prevent moisture buildup on the inside, to put a Desiccant pack inside the headlight assembly.
Would this need to be replaced ?

    2) Is there any special procedure to reseal the glass to the headlight body using the 3M Window-Weld Round Ribbon Sealer ?

    Thanks

    1. I've never used desiccant. What I (and many others) have found is that the vents that are supposed to prevent condensation are actually the cause of the condensation. I have plugged the vents with success.

    2. It may sound odd, but I have never actually used new sealer. I just "roll" the old sealer back into the groove and warm it back up and re-set the glass.

If you seal the vents, you may as well toss in a desiccant pack and securely fasten it in a hidden spot. I didn't seal my vents and had no issues, but I could see over an extended period of time that there could be issues with extreme temperature changes.

I also had no issue reusing the old sealer in the same way.

I will give the desiccant pack a shot. I can't reuse the sealer. I didn't know it could be reused and scooped it all out.

I gather you just apply the 3M Window-Weld sealer and press the two pieces together ?
