Driving stock oil pressure with aftermarket .5-4.5v sender. (vids/circuit/info)

Since I don't race the spyder I'm not going with a bunch of aftermarket gauges. Instead, I went with a LCDBC unit for digital readout. Having the oil pressure just sit idle was certainly going to annoy me so I created a circuit that will drive the gauge from an aftermarket 0-150psi .5v-4.5v sender that is shared with the LCDBC.

    Stock gauge info:
The stock gauge is current driven. The sender unit changes resistance based on pressure and in doing so, changes the current that the needle motor runs on. It's so slooooow but it will work. On my gauge, 0 is about 25mA and the top was 125mA.

I setup the converter to top off at around 65/70psi. Since the sender starts at .5v, this puts the gauge pretty close to 0 without any offset.

    Here are a few vids.

Circuit testing full sweep. Video is sped up 8x.

Cold start up. 8x speed again.

    Some revving.

    Nice work Tony!

This reminds me of the electric wizardry that Jimvr4 used to do when he was more active on this forum.

Milled the circuit board and got it populated. Also made a case for it 3d printed style.

That looks clean, I'd bet you could sell those.

I don't think there would be enough demand for it though. Sort of a niche within a niche.
