So good to be back in a TT

    Hey guys hows it goin
happy Saturday, wet one here in Salt Lake

I've got my new '94 Stealth AWD TT here I was so happy to snag recently! I sold my red '97 3000GT base model (to a 16 year old girl, super excited over it), and I need to sell my '99 GT base model now!

    The new '94:
151K miles, super clean and original I'm the 3rd owner and the first owner had it until 2015! All stock besides a K&N filter, a shiny re-circulating BOV, and my '99 headlights I polished up and installed right away
I just changed the oil with 0W40 Mobile1, I plan to change the trans T-case and rear diff fluid pretty soon. I was told timing belt was done at 110K ~8 yrs ago. Trans doesn't grind, my first 6-speed that's cool. The car is so original and clean! Only a split seam on the seat-bottom of driver's seat, I'm thinking about trying to remove that OEM leather cover myself to fix it. I need a new active exhaust switch. The OEM Infinity radio turns on but no sound comes out of speakers. ? It has a 6-disc changer behind the rear seats. Power Antenna broken, I was going to eliminate and put an aftermarket antenna (previous owner included), inside stuck on top edge of rear window.

'99 3000GT base model - need to sell:
SOHC Auto, has 198K miles now! Ever since I owned it (~30K miles), the auto trans has been kinda slippy/hesitant between shifting gears when it's dead cold, but been normal once it warmed up. Kinda jerky when shifting from park to drive or reverse and some while changing gears also, I'm sure some of that is motor mounts. I want to much for my junk haha (only like, low trade-in value). Needs body/paintwork the pass. side is the ugly side, has a blue door from previous wreck. And I've stolen the valuable '99 headlights, gasp. it has glass '94 lights now that need separated and cleaned up. Has a miss/misfire at idle I can't seem to fix. I just installed new autolite plugs (I thought from my previous experience it liked those ones) and new wires, and I think my acceleration and power is slightly improved but still the miss at idle and check engine light eventually comes, cylinder misfire code. Frustrating, I thought the engine was still chugging by ok even if getting to it's last leg. It is exactly like a miss at idle I had before, which turned out to be a cracked ceramic on a spark plug that was shorting, and engine ran perfectly again when i had changed the plugs. Oh, and I had old wires going to the ignition coil barely hanging on by a strand, I cut-soldered better even though old wires old connector. I had hoped that would fix the miss but nope. I'll check the cap/rotor, but at this point things aren't looking good for that old drivetrain.
I hate to see even worn out things reach their end, it's a real '99! Tan cloth interior looks ok, I just spent half a day with the front seats out shampooing the seats/carpet. I think needs at least 1 wheel bearing and a balljoint getting a bit loose. Seems that balljoint is special order or 1 option at rockauto.com (then of course have to get pressed in), dealer only sells a whole control arm/balljoint for about $450.

So that's life, projects projects at my shop. I still intend to build my 4G swapped car.. but my new '94 is so clean, that might not happen for awhile because I'll keep driving it stock as I focus on other builds. I've got a complete 3/S 'AWD swap' here, with extra 6-speed rear diff and my old '93 Stealth TT parts car upside-down behind the shop lol.. I may sell to a local Utah enthusiast that's cool. My damn '99 may be worth about equal to those swap parts haha.

I honestly only skimmed the part about the 99, but ball joint doesn't need pressed in. If you have a c clamp it will do the trick. I changed mine sitting on my ass in my yard. There is a Moog part number for a Hyundai Sonata which I believe is K9855 that fits. That's what I used.

    NICE, thanks
    How's it going bro

Oh man I love the stock TT, was just driving it. Oh yeah, the clutch assist isn't working so clutch is heavy. Possibly disabled I don't know. The hardline is there running next to battery and Y-pipe, I need to investigate further.

The radio, is there an amp in between the radio itself and all the speakers and could I have a blown amp fuse?

Things are ok here. Need to get my own project finished.

The wires going to the coil get cooked by the rear precat, that's why they were in the shape they were. it would be worth it to do the cap and rotor. I got a tiny bit of oxidaation on the rotor and it caused misfires.

Good call on the cap/rotor, I cleaned with some sandpaper and got it idling good again!

Funny how I can drive a car for a year looking like crap (on one side), with no shame might I add, priorities... and then when I need to sell it I can finally spend a few days or a few hours making it look ALL the difference, lol
