ask the judge how they measure the loudness of the car. then say please provide proof that i voilated that sound limit and i will pay the fine. what? you dont have a way to measure sound? then why am i here? this should be dismissed in the name of the law as i do not think that all police officers are actual sound measuring units. if the judge says they are, then ask to see a certificate of the officer's, that states this officers ears are equivalent to a decible reading unit.

Exactly why i dont hassle, i can deal with getting pulled over now and then, i dont want him to be waiting around the corner waiting for me to leave every morning though.

I've had been stopped for traffic violations don't know how many times. Twice, guns were drawn (one of those the 1st time I was ever stopped).
Guess I was expecting a little more action... Heh.

The most hardass cops I've run into had to be in California, followed closely by Ohio.
I've run into some very cool cops in Arizona and Upper Michigan.

In you story it was about midnight, I would hate to be woken up by a loud car. However, if they cant prove that it is loud they have no argument.

Move to the Detroit area. So many muscle cars around in the summer and I don't think I've ever even heard of anyone getting pulled over for loud exhaust.
