no wonder he's trying for records on the stock motor. he's got so many tickets he can't afford a proper stroker.

Now, telling the cop this at the time MIGHT not be the smartest move one could make!! ... Let them search and have your attorney get it thrown out!

But feuding with the Police IS a losing situation long term !!
States have different laws, but in Okla. a search warrant is only needed if you don't give consent to search. Officers can search within your reach for weapons and if they find any contraband can then do a complete search. If you do say No and they smell that smell of "HAPPY HAY" that's enough probable cause to search without consent or a warrant.
Probably another reason you keep gettin' tickets IS your record. Being retired Law Enforcement, when I got out with someone I always asked if they had any tickets and their license was good. If they lied, they got all I could give them. If they told me the truth MOST of the time, I cut 'em a break.
Before I was a cop (100 yrs. ago) I got stopped 13 times before I got a ticket. I was polite and looked scared shitless. Usually worked. (Except for that time they threw a roadblock up on me.) I drove a '69 Camaro around with open headers. We usually ended up lookin' at the motor and talkin' cars.
You guys may not believe me, but, if you give most cops a chance they CAN be cool. Not ALL, there's always an A-hole out there, but most. Hell, some of us become cops so we could drive fast and shoot at people. LOL

funny. it wasn't until recently that i became a fan of speed limits. not that i enjoy harassment from law-enforcement for violations of them; but i'm convinced that the average person is too inept to safely operate a vehicle above those speeds. sometimes even well below those speeds.

I completely agree with you, thats why i laugh at it, i expect to get a ticket every time i drive, its not exactly a car that blends in very well. I am nice every time but though, and they are usually cool with me, like i said i could have gotten a lot more tickets than i did.

I know most of them are cool, and they just have a job to do.

Omg dude. Thats freaking awesome. I feel you pain, i got pulled over 32 times in 3 months with my 3000GT and it was a bone stock SL. Good stuff.

I dont know the laws in NY but the cop has to LEGALLY pull you over on the street. If you were in your drive....lawn...technically he didnt pull you over so you might be free.

    but yeah...wow... gl dude.

One phrase you need to keep in mind and constantly use with an officer. "Am I free to go now?"

Never say anything to a cop, for one, and only comply with him. This leaves you in the best position ALWAYS in court to win a case.
I got pulled over for my exhaust when I was still in college, majoring in CJ. I had my law manual with me in the car, which has traffic law in it. The officer was trying to write me a ticket for no muffler when I pulled out the book and showed him I didn't have to have one because my car is older than 2005. He continued to write the ticket until I pulled my law manual out and found it, pointing it to him, then popping the hood to show him the turbos. He then made the comment, well, I see cats on there so I guess you are all legal, and put his ticket book away. I still had to sign something though because he had already started to fill out a ticket. Cops get really nervous when you pull out the law manual in front of them.

The best part is, the cats are gutted.

In Texas, this is the case. You could have gone all the way into your house as long as you get there before he initiates the stop. Then, for a traffic violation, he would have to get a warrant to remove you from your house to issue the ticket. I could be wrong.

My FWD TT was gutted the exact same as your just no heating components or blower motor at all and I had open o2's. I never got pulled over for anything except for no front license plate ALL the time. Never got a single ticket though. Every cop that stopped me has said, are you getting your entire car repainted? Because the paint inside was nice and shiny and it was gutted to the max. I would just tell them no or I drag race it. None ever said anything about it or even cared actually a couple thought it was cool and asked how much horsepower I had. lol. And one even looked at my insurance and I had a 91 Eagle Talon TSI AWD listed on the card too and he said damn that that talon is a fast car too. And I just agreed.

    92 Eagle Talon TSI AWD Auto = 10.61@127.8 (1.4 60ft)
    94 3000gt SL 8:1TT 5spd getrag = 11.87@123 (1.8 60ft)
    91 3000gt VR4 13gs = 11.61@115 (1.59 60ft)
