    need battery help!

    ive got 12.5v at battery when parked. when running it says 11.8v at battery and 11.3v on the hhh logger. battery checked out by shop as ok. i just tried a new alt ($250) today and does the same thing. terminals are clean and tight. car idles fine mabey a little higher and had a miss in the exhaust note but, not when listening to engine. what do i look for next?

    Check the voltage drop in the connections on the starter, the alternator and the battery. Yes, check them again.

    check your ground wires and connection points.

    checked the with 2 diff meters. my battery term has a volt meter and i checked with my battery charger. logger and radar dummy gauge say low. dont have a way to check starter but its months old, starts and runs but i dont want to get stranded.

    car ran tits before i r&r the turbos to replace a smoker.

    Check the voltage at the starter posts.

    If you never touched the connections, they may be dirty. Do itttt

    do i check while running? the connections are perfect looking. i just built this engine combo months ago. only has 1400 miles since new srtroker and turbos added.

    Both on and off, and also while cranking. The voltage shouldn't drop a lot. It sounds like a charging issue (bad connection or bad alt.) because the voltage is so low while driving.

    check your fuses too. they might not look blown so check them.

    and run a dedicated ground on the alternator itself and replace all the other grounds on the engine.
    i bet its a ground issue.
