    Brian loves you too, Bob.

Why, just the other day he was going on about what a great ass you have.

    Happy birthday, bud.

Still trudging along in the car. I just don't have much extra time to try to upload pics. I do need to make time though.

So time for some actual updates with photos.

I do apologize for the lengthy delay. Life hasn't been the same since last February (2018). My uncle passed away suddenly and it put a damper on things for awhile. He was like a dad to me and he liked to be a thorn in my side and always give me a hard time about getting things done to the car. It seemed like every time I tried to accomplish something on the car after he passed I hit a proverbial wall.

I try to laugh about it a little now, because my car is in his garage, and I know he is giving me shit for the length of time its been in there.

I'm going to try to stay chronological for the most part. I'll also try to keep the descriptions short and sweet and let pictures speak for themselves.

I'm going to start off with many of the things that I got done to the car prior to it getting moved up to the garage.

First off is the shifter base.

    Before

    After sandblasting

    Primer

    Painted

    Assembled

The brackets on the headlights had seen better days so I took them off for the same treatment

    Before

    After sandblasting

    Painted

Next up is the brackets that go along the front of the bumper cover as well as fog light brackets.

I can't locate the before pics, but you can imagine they looked similar to the other before pics

    After sandblasting

    Primer

    Paint

I went back over these brackets too. Not pictured is my fix for one of the studs breaking off.

Next up is the fog light assemblies

Again for some reason I don't seem to have before pics.

    After sandblasting

    Paint

    Assembled

I even cleaned up and painted the fog light shrouds

    Before

    After

I pulled the headliner to paint it since I swapped in my true black leather

    After a few light coats

    All done

Weather was nice one of those days so I grabbed the intake manifold and cleaned it up and prepped it for paint

    After

Another day I installed the rear hatch trays, spare tire and spare tire cover

I know the carpet doesn't look all that good there. I have another one I will install.

I think the previous two posts pretty much catches you up on things that happened prior to getting the car to the garage. Now this should catch you up on things that have happened since then.

One thing of "humor" first though. After we moved the car I went back to the house to grab a few things and noticed something interesting where the car was sitting.

I know people say the 3s has womanly curves and this just proves the point.

    Anyway, onto the rest.

I have already posted pics of the engine on the stand and cleaned up so I'll move on from that point.

One of the nights whilst working on the car we had a blue Mitsu night

Ok so from there and the last pics of the engine on the stand this happened

That there was the last pic of the engine on the stand...

Sorry for the smoke. We had just stoked the fire and it got a lil smoky in the garage

    Clutch and pressure plate mounted

    Trans mounted

    What's this?

After the engine went in I made a scary discovery.

I installed the axles and was trying to "guesstimate" the torque on the axle nuts because my torque wrench didn't go high enough. After I tightened it I tryed to spin the axles and they were almost locked solid. I tried loosening the axle nut thinking I had the bearing locked up and it didn't really help, so I went to pull the brakes off and found this

All four calipers looked like that or similar. I don't know what happened or why. Either I sucked really bad at my rebuild of the calipers or the car sat too long after I did the rebuild and the pistons just pushed past the boots. The reason this is super scary is we flat towed the car the two miles to the garage with my brother's Equinox and a chain. I don't know how I didn't end up slamming into him or possibly even worse.

After discovering that I decided to bite the bullet and just order "new" remans.

Anyway, in the process of fighting the engine in place the front valve cover got scratched up and it wasn't perfect in the first place anyway so I repainted it, as well as the intake tube

    Then we did this

Back on the car with nice stainless hardware
