    Weird tach/speedo issue

So started the 93 up today and my tach was dead but LCD was showing RPM's as normal. As I drove the needle went up but was definitely lower than what it should, about 700 RPM difference. Really didn't pay attention, but it seemed like I was going faster than what my speedo was saying. So after work I turned on my GPS and drove and the speedo needle was dead on. Only problem is it normally is 8 mph slower as I have 245/40/18's instead of stock 245/40/17's. So now my speedo and tach are both off.

I drove the car back on Friday and with the lights on low all lights minus the passenger low light were dimly on. If I hit the high beams all 4 would go bright. Next day I messed with the wires (got 99's on there) and didn't notice a difference. Cranked it this morning to warm it up and while in low worked as normal. Wonder if issues are related somehow.

Curtis, I had problem with the tach in my 92TT a few years ago...it actually ended up being the tach gauge in the cluster.
I purchased a used cluster and all was good...

It also could be that your gauge is not receiving the signal from the PTU...

Stock tires on 93 are 245/45/17, so 245/40/18 should be accurate. But my 93 also had the stock tach die. Replaced with used cluster and swapped in my odometer.

I guess I can pull the cluster out of my 96 and see what it does. Thanks everyone.
