    NG Timer/Link on 3si

I was just wondering but does 3si really have the right to use that at the top of their pages!!

I mean they have never contributed to any of the NG from what I remember and they are not even a sponsor of the event. So why should they be able to flaunt the event on their forum if they don't participate or sponsor in any way, shape or form.

I understand from Alan's point it is great free advertisement for the event but maybe they should be forced to update it with more detailed/accurate information.

Not trying to start a fight or argument just wanting to give the people responsible for the event the proper credit.

    What does everyone think????

    Check it out on Youtube!!

    I put it there.

Leaving it there gets more traffic for the NG.

Removing it does nothing positive for the NG.

I honestly wish that threads about 3si on here and threads about 3sgto on 3si would stop coming up. Some people like to go on both site and some don't.

Honestly, I don't see how it helps THIS community. We are a single platform... it's not like bashing on the Stang forums or Supra forums... we all own the same cars.

Not a bash at you OP, it's not like the thread is bashing 3si or anything... but these are a daily occurrence anymore. There are a LOT of things about 3si that I don't like, but it's really dividing the community.

I have no intentions of bashing 3si, nor was this an attempt to divide the forums/platform in any way. I was strictly saying that credit should be due where it is deserved. Alan and Lori do all of the work for NG, I think that the link should be updated to reflect that. Something like "244 days left until the 2011 3S National Gathering Brought to you by 3sng.org!"

The point being that the older members know who handles NG and who to contact in regards to in. On 3si. newer members do not have that information so they may try to contact Autoforums. I state this as I am a web developer and most people think that links on a page are directed at the website itself. Outbound links should be appropriately labeled as such.

It could be removed if that is what is desired. It seemed like a positive service.

Is it really that big of a deal. The banner helps all 3S owners. Plus credit is given at the event, and also in the threads that get created for the event. I don't think knowing who to contact will be much of a problem once threads for the event start popping up on both sites.

I really don't see AF paying anything to run a free ad for the ng. That is all I am saying.
