Anyone with FMIC and fans on the front of condenser???

I need to get bigger fans do to this thing running in the 190's. Only problem is I am running TD05's and as it is now I have very little room and don't think bigger fans will fit. Was thinking about putting some fans in the front of the condenser and make them push the air vs. pull like they do now. Wondering how much of a pain it would be to mount.

There's enough room for them but you'll have to relocate the power steering cooler.

What sort of fans are you running at the moment?

what are you doing that 190's are a concern? Cars are generally designed to run in the 190-220 range and have been for several decades.

When I say 190s' I means 199 on a cool day. I can't drive this thing if temps are in the 70's or higher because it will get around 215. It's been like this for a while and a couple of years back I had to take my heads off and when I took them into a machine shop the man mentioned it looked like the car had run hot. Not sure what temp constitutes "hot" but the most I showed was around 215.

As for the fans, I think they're dual 1050 CFM. They are real close to the manifold right now, thinking anything bigger will hit.

Have you just got the fans tied to the radiator core? If so, make up a proper shroud and mount the fans to it to help you get airflow over the whole core.

I have two horizontal "L" brackets that I have attached to the top and bottom of the fans. Welded off of the brackets I have other brackets that mount the whole thing to the mishimoto radiator using the mounting tabs on the radiator. There is about an 1/8" gap between the fan shroud and the radiator. I was thinking of getting the mishimoto shroud and dual fans, but don't believe I have enough room due to the TD05's. Also, thinking my fans are in the 800 CFM range. I had talked to mishimoto a couple of years back and want to say they suggested nothing less than 1100 CFM.

You're finding out the hard way that anything other than the stock fans, for lack of a better word, suck. Many people run two ac (driver's side) fans when space is an issue.

Yeah, there's fans and fans. Ratings tend to be a bit of a pissing contest, you're better off focusing on a proper brand instead of just going off the rating. I'm currently running two 10 inch Maradyne fans...I think they're rated at around 950, they seem to do the job OK-ish.

Shrouding will definitely help you if you can make it happen. Or as above, two thin factory fans - probably the same thickness as your current fans + shrouding.

I installed 2 pusher fans on a 99 that had overheating issues with a FMIC. Total he had 4 fans, no issues thereafter.
