Have you tried reaching out to Mark and Jan? I mention them because they are the only long time members I know who still have a ton of passion for this platform. When they lived in TX, they were instrumental in keeping our local and statewide events going. Once they left TX, the number of meets and attendance went down dramatically.

While a lot of us old timers have sold their cars or simply lost interest, they're still going strong. Hell, just the 3S cars they own themselves, is a decent amount of cars for a local meet turnout!

Sadly, my understanding is that Mark and Jan don't want anything to do with the event as long as I'm running it. I truly have no idea why, or if there's anything I can do about it. I've reached out, but haven't ever received a response. That's one of the reasons I've offered to step down.

My opinion is don't worry about them. Mark has always seemed to come off with an assholish attitude and thinks he's better than everyone else.

I see you stepping down in no way helping the NG or its numbers.

So to bump up the thread and get the conversation going, I reached out to my local Z-Car club and got a decent response. They have quite a few active members and are going to discuss potential interest at their next club meeting later this month.

If the committee has any details for NG17 we can share at this time I think it will help with gaining their interest. Anything regarding dates, location, and cost would be big. And if this stuff hasn't been determined yet, timing estimates on when it might be determined would go a long way.

There was a nice showing at the shootout this year. Mostly parked together right by the time board. Eric ran a 9.9 in his 3000, and nobody broke. It was a great time.

Unfortunately its just a bit too early yet. We are still working out details with the group we hope to partner with for the NG17 Road course. Once we have that worked out we'll know for sure where/when the event will be and we will let everyone know that as soon as its known.

Adding a second group to the event would be great. And having it be our new Nissan siblings would IMO be perfect.

Please talk to them about Drag Racing as we might have to change how we've been running the event and go back to renting a track if they will add significant numbers.

Looking forward we'll need some people that can help with both Drag Race and autocross classing.

RE: DSM Shootout. I live 25 miles west of David Buschr's shop and 30 miles west of Summit Raceway. When I got my car I went to Buschr's to see about him putting it on his dyno and tuning it. I didn't have enough money to tie up his or his dynos time and he wondered why I wanted to sink my money in such a vehicle. Buschr has a very bad condescending attitude about the 3S platform. I am not surprised that he doesn't want our group to join up with his event. He's an egotistical prick. The event might be fun in ways as a spectator or if you show up in one of the preferred cars, but I really can't see a marriage of the NG and the DSM Shootout.
