    Piston and rod orientation

I'm getting ready to press my wrist pins into my piston/rod combo, but am not sure which way the piston goes on the rod. I threw the old pistons away a couple years ago and the job has been on hold since then. The service manual isn't clear about which markings denote "front" on the rods. The rods are stock.

Using the arrow on the piston crown as a guide, which way do the rods face?

The skirt oiler hole points at the thrust side of the piston... (that points them to the right) the easiest way to tell is the cast in numbers on the beam of the rod face the front.

Writing on the rod is the same side as the arrow. Hopefulling you marked the rod caps with the rods when removed so assembled the same as removed.

Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!
