    Well, there you go.
Ranked No. #1 in initial quality

Idiots, simply by being idiots, seem capable of achieving randomly bad things that are beyond the imaginings of sensible people.

There's a difference between a properly manufactured oil pump and one made like a third grader carved it with a metal spoon...

I'd not have driven a car new to me for 2000 miles either. Much less stressful to let it get carted around on a truck.

If you change the oil and trans fluid before the trip, and drive it carefully, a steady running of the engine for 3 days shouldn't be a problem. It's less stressful on the engine than local driving with lots of stop and go.
I've done San Diego to Memphis, SD to Indy, Miami to St. Louis, Miami to Pittsburgh and Miami to Bowling Green, Ky. all in the past 7 years without any issues other than my AC giving out 2 years ago.

With the timetable you had I think you made the right choice. I find 600 miles a day to be a comfortable pace. That's 10 of driving at an average speed of 60 mph. I know that sound pretty pedestrian but keep in mind even short delays in traffic can drop your average speed considerably, and where can you go 600 miles without running into traffic? Add to that a gas stop or two, the occasional piss break, and a lunch stop and that 10 hours of drive time = 12-14 hours clock time. If you want dinner and 8 hours sleep you've had a full day. 700 miles a day is certainly doable but that's starting to push it and still leaves you a bit short using all 3 days. 1100 miles a day is just unrealistic.
Yeah maybe you could have done it but it would have sucked. You made the right choice.

I do ~900 a day on my NG trips. Anything west of wherever the NG is traffic less, thankfully for me, lol

my big question is, are you familiar with the AEM EMS I take it you are running? I wouldn't go on a long trip without a laptop and AEMTuner or AEM Pro, depending on whether you are series 1 or 2.

Its not that the aem is unreliable or that your tune will not hold if its setup properly, its that if any stock sensor or normal issue comes up you won't be able to go to your local autozone and plug into the computer. Say a crank sensor, cam sensor, map sensor, ait sensor, wideband, etc any of those fail and you will not be able to debug it without a laptop and the software setup.

Pampena 3.5 Stroker, GTX 2867 Gen IIs, AEM Series2, oohnoo SMIC, DN Hardpipes, FIC 1650s, Walbro 525, aermotive fpr, Dejon intake pipes, Tial Q, Koyo Rad, Samco Hoses, Stoptech 332mm fronts, HKS GT4 Coilovers, Spec 4+ LW, JDM 6 Speed, Billet shift forks, Pampena brace

    drive her.

bring a floor jack, jack stands, full size spare wheel/tire, your tools, I always bring my dog to talk to

don't rush, have fun, where are you headed?

when I mAle 20 or 30 hour drives, I pop my hood at least twice a day just to look around.

as Forest was saying, you should be a little familiar with your tuning device

And, have Internet access, so you can get on the forum just in case.. would I ever do that....

really, don't Rush it, and don't have your wheels set to full negative camber, I usually bring my spare alternator, and my electrical bag..

I always stop at a hotel for the breakfast eggs. just have fun, and if I'm in your area, hit me up!!
