    Preventative Maintanance

Hey guys so my 93 3000gt base started having some problems and im in the process of fixing and replacing parts it has 200,000 miles on it and the previous owner took good care of it however it was sitting for about 3 years before i bought it and its in its 4th month of new ownership. the alternator crapped out and left me on the street so i just bought an alternator and starter for it aswell since its also making a grinding noise when i start the car sometimes and am going to install both later this week. i also ordered a timing belt. i was wondering if there are any other problems that 3000gts have that i can prevent by replacing a few parts early.

timing belt, water pump, oil pump, timing tensioner

it's an old car, so there are lots of parts that could use replaced, but those pop off my head first.

I'm a new owner of a 3000gt, but my previous experience with cars around 20+ years is also to check the condition of the fuel pump and it's system, the lines, injectors, etc. Those may or may not cause you some major headaches down the road.

Get OEM parts! do not use timing belt kits off ebay or anywhere else. Some have had success with non-oem brands, but some have had the belt break costing them there motor. do yourself a favor and go OEM.
    the basic go fast bits...
forged short block, Billet DR1000's, 680cc injectors, meth inj, FMIC, MAFT, Apexi Neo, hotwired 255lph fuel pump.
