    Transmissions

    what do you guys think of a 6 speed swap vs a 5 speed rebuild. My car grinds going in to second and i just recently started feeling resistance going from 2nd to 3rd. Tried adjusting the pedal and that helped a little but it still grinds. Bought the car from a dealership and they told me the car had a new clutch and master cylinder put in by the previous owner. I'm guessing he traded in because of the transmission. I was thinking about going through Jacks for the rebuild. I have no idea where to begin if I decided to go with a 6 speed instead.

    When cold the trans takes like 1-2 seconds to shift from 1,2 at say 3000 RPM. Overall just tends to try to block shifts or be slow. Literally everything clutch or trans related replaced with new oem parts except the stock shifter inside the cab and the shifter cables.

    When warm seems to shift 'ok', but never confident to beat on it, given the cold or lukewarm issues it has. I may make a new thread later.
    Glad to hear the trans is OK, but it sounds like that brings up more questions than it answers...

    Sure does, ordered a new set of shifter cables from cherry hill, but I'm pretty sure the ones I have are fine.
