Haha. yeah I have been delaying the announcement until I had firm numbers. But I can't seem to find the time to get to a Dyno.
I have my car running the maf and its great. Direct plug and play for a 3s maf. Works with any SL or VR4 without changing any settings.
The only thing I change is the VE table from stopping at 1600 to 5000hz. I still havent found the limit of the maf. Had my car tuned on e85 at 30psi on it.
Pulls like a freight train. I just haven't gotten over to tthe dyno. Partly beacuse I am always changing my setup and testing other stuff.
But right now I am running it on Gas. Super easy to tune. I had a e85 tune with 1000cc inj, 20T turbos at 24 psi done in 45 min.

    uhm not change anything?

that sounds weird since it will have more volume of air passing the sensor per signal compared to the stock evo housing ???

No it's not weird. The calibrations are based on the housing. Since it's the same housing a stock 3/S MAF then nothing changes. Obviously your individual car needs to be tuned but if your tune is already set with a stock MAF then swapping in the new one changes nothing.

The advantage to the new MAF is simply being able to count more than 2600hz worth of air which is where the stock one hits the ceiling.

As for the MAF physical size.... People have made over 500whp with the puny 3" EVO MAF. The stock 3/S MAF is much larger. I doubt we will see any restrictions from its physical size till well beyond what the EVO MAF has already put out on our cars.

Blow thru just doesn't work nearly as well. He air is more chaotic and hotter than draw thru. This is especially annoying at idle! I gave up on blow thru years ago.

oh you mean the square thing in the middle. Cool didn't know that. So basically I can slap in a evo maf in a 4 inch pipe as long as I keep that square housing then

have a spare evo9 maf laying around so it's hack up time! xD

No I mean the whole housing. It's calibrated for the air that sneaks by in the side chambers too.

The new MAF we sell looks exactly identical to a stock 3/S MAF.

oh bummer was happy for a while

but you really lost me now because the 3s housing is larger than the evo8/9 so more air should be passing through

and you are using the evo 8/9 sensor and circuit board so then you have to program the ECU for that no?

    I mean this difference

Pics? Did you just pop the top, gut and drop in? Or did you make a separate hole?

That difference is the result of the housing the circuitry is setup in.
