Smile My 93 Stealth TT build

    Hi All,

Names Austin, lot of people call me Boston. Been lurking the forum/scene for a few years not but just recently have been able to make my first real dive in. I originally owned a 92 Stealth ES, and after driving that for a couple years in college I decided once I graduated I needed to buy something better...

Well, at the time of graduation I was just getting into the swing of 'adulthood' and only had so much cash. I found a 93 RT TT for a decent price after taking out a lease on a Jeep for daily driving and figured I'd make this the project car I always wanted. Boy was I in for a fun time.

At the time of purchasing, the amount of problems or severity was a bit unknown. I spent $3500 for one with about 120xxx miles. I knew at the time it had a leaking power steering system and failed to run correctly (didn't start, idled rough, wouldn't stay started), it also had some light body damage from what appeared to be caused by someone brushing a guard rail. The front fender was destroyed, right side door is quite dented and the rear 1/4 panel has a minor dent.

WELL, its now almost a year later.. I'm still working on her xD

    So far my modifications/changes/fixes include:

    - ABS Delete (all new SS braided lines, and new rear hard-lines)
    - KN Filter
    - AWS Delete
    - Adjustable upper control arms
    - Solid differential bushings
    - OEM Rear Sub Bushings
    - OEM lower control arm bushings, and ball joints
    - New Hardware (concentric bolts, random nuts, ect)
    - Full Exhaust (CX racing DP, test pipe, and full dual exhaust)
    - Megan Racing Coilovers
    - New Brakes (New calipers, pads, rotors, and ebrake shoes)
    - Replaced right side fender
    - New clutch hardline
    - New Battery
    - Subframe restoration (sanded, painted with expensive rust reformer, forgot name ;s)

    Stuff left to install:

    -Power Meter(done)
    -EBC (done)
    -255 Fuel pump/Hot Wire

    Projected plans:

    - 19T's
    - Hard pipes
    - Wideband
    - FMIC
    - Gauges (oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, ect)
    - Complete fuel system rebuild/E85
    - Swap right door (done)
    - Motor build
    - Fix Rear Blinkers (done/fixed)

Honestly, at this point Im surprised I'v made it as far as I have. I couldn't have done it without the help of a few friends and excellent vendors. I always wanted to make a build thread, but just never got around to doing it so figured now was the time. I'm no mechanic, but I do have the desire to accomplish things that I set in front of myself. This has been one hella expensive project, but it also has been the most rewarding. Im excited for the time to come. I'd like to make 500HP, but I want to do it right and safe.

I plan on updating this thread as time goes on, and I'll try my best to include pictures along the way.

For now, heres a picture of her as of a few weeks ago after installing the coilovers.

Cant believe no one replied to this! Welcome! Looks like you have a solid build plan. Don't forget (at least) a 60k maintenance to make sure your investment doesn't go up in flames.
    Cheers to the 93 TTs!

Heck yeah! Glad you are saving another 3s! Where do you live, Austin/Boston? lol

Anxious to see how you keep improving on it! Don't fall into the quick fix category, take your time and it will turn out better!

Better do an oil pump too if it hasn't been done.

And your front wheel is on backwards.

Sounds like you have a solid game plan! It's rewarding to repair ones that most others would have parted out & destroyed another usable car, isn't it?

Sorry I didn't post sooner guys, been busy with a employment transition the last couple months (but a good thing as I'll be able to continue with build.)

I live in Lincoln Park (MI) currently. Supposedly the car had the 120K service done before I bought it, but who knows. I was planning on doing that when the new turbos go in sometime next year. Right now my main focus is cleaning up the engine bay, getting the ignition issues sorted (having spark blow-out currently, coils look old and tired). I dont drive the car as I have a Jeep for DD, so I'm sorta just going at it at my own pace.

On a positive note, I did confirm that mine is a 4bolt main, up until today I thought that it was a 2bolt... Winning. I'll post some more pics tomorrow, currently working on painting, polishing, and working in the engine bay.

Ignore the ugly placement of the prop valve, its going to be relocated to the correct spot once the engine gets pulled for the new turbos, just had to get the car able to move locations for the time being, but it works XD.

Planning on yanking the front valve cover off and painting it white, along with the hard pipes. The middle insert piece will be painted red to match the MSD coils that will be installed next.

Doing a full vacuum reduction along with putting in the Blitz hardware, not intending on maxing out the turbos just yet, but trying to make it a little more "my own". Haha
