Thread: DW1000's on Chrome. Injector Battery Voltage and Scaling

    DW1000's on Chrome. Injector Battery Voltage and Scaling

    Hey guys,

    Are any of you running DW1000's w/ E85 on chrome?

    What is your Injector Battery Voltage and Scaling set to?

    I have read posts from EVOM and Nascioc with info on what their settings are as well as the Battery Offset info from DW themselves.

    Some of this info is conflicting so I thought I would ask here from anyone with experience.




    What is your settings on the IBV & Scaling for the chrome rom for the DW1000's & E85.

    Are you running e85 now or gas?

    The latency info on EVOm is a pretty good place to start usually. Anything for the fat body 1000s should be fairly close and it'll need a lot of tweaking anyway. If you have no idea then start with a conservative scaling and stock latency. Then just add or subtract from the stock latency until you get where you want.

    I am currently running E85 with my setup.

    I snagged this from a post on the evolutionm site.


    Good starting:

    Scaling

    Pump: 713

    E85: 562

    Latency

    6.120
    4.200
    2.808
    1.992
    1.488
    1.200
    0.912




    What I find odd is I am having a hard time entering the numbers into the ms table. I click the cell, go to (I think it was add or edit data) Enter the latency for that row (6.120) and click okay. It doesn't change a thing.

    Also when I enter 562 into the Injector Size portion, it changes it to 565 after clicking okay. (Not sure if that is normal or not)

    The scaling on a 3/s and an evo is a little different due to the way its setup. That said their scaling is way off IMO anyway. I'd start with about 650 for e85.

    To change a latency click in the box and then hit the = key an type your value. The latencies *seem* high for what you have. For FIC 1050s I was running.

    but I was running elevated high idle fuel pressure, so your results may vary. The "rounding" is normal because the actual information is stored in a different base than what you see in ecuflash. There are less "steps" or distinct values than one per each normal "1" difference in one value to the next.

    I will give 650 a shot.

    I will also throw in your volt and latency and see how it all reacts. Curious since it will be the first change I make with the chrome ecu haha.

    I was just working with Adam on Latency in regards to my Lucas 550's as part of this issue - http://www.3sgto.org/tuning-engine-e...tuck-rich.html

    From what he told me the latencies are only a concern for Idle. I started off with the latency numbers I found online and let the car get up to temp. Engine was running really rich and O2 was not cycling as it was so rich. So what he had me do is to select the latency number cells then click edit in that box and multiple it by 0.90. We kept doing that until the O2 started cycling as it should. Once we got the O2's cycling as they should then idle would have been set. Except I have an issue with an injector/s that caused whatever bank it was in to stay rich.... Thinking leaking/stuck open injector.

    I read somewhere else what I tuner would do if they didn't know latency was to set them all to zero, get the voltage from the ECU with all load on the electrical system off "AC, Lights, ETC" and start adjusting just that latency area for the battery range, then he would add load by turning everything on and then setting that range which should have been a lower battery range. They adjusted the rest of the ranges in between. Just another thought process to look at.

    So what I should do first is just Set the scaling in the rom, and flash it. Then if that goes good, set the latency on the rom and flash that over?


    My only thing I wanted to accomplish is to get a good idle with my current setup (which I could not do with the dr-arc2 and injectors alone) I got this whole chrome setup just to see if I could get it to idle nicely lol

    Just do them both and follow your trims. If the idle trim is off more than the mid trim then change the latencies. If both are off change the scaling.

    I'm sure with your maf being different your maf scaling table will need changes as well, so I honestly wouldn't sweat getting it perfect with any one setting. Whatever you do that leads to a stable idle and a fuel injector pulsewidth that gives the desired afr will work. I prefer to get the injectors as close as possible before tuning anything else though.

    Yeah, start with the injector scaling and get it close and then use the rest for fine tuning.

    FWIW I have DW1200's, and I used the supplied info that came with the injectors.
