Does anyone do throttle body rebuilds?

Sent a message to April a month ago, no response. Anyone know a good throttle body rebuilder?

    Thanks

I thought I read somewhere that she was really backed up with polishing things. Not sure if that translates into TB rebuilds also or the reason she hasn't replied.

I have no personal knowledge of the situation, but from what I've read on the other forum, April has her hands full dealing with real life... We probably won't be seeing much of her for a while.

I usually work on local stuff, but if you can't find anyone closer, I could handle rebuilding your throttle body.

Just don't ask me to polish it....

She is a friend of mine and last I talked to her on the phone I think you're right. I just always try and send business her way because she does a great job.

Would you be interested in powder coating and rebuilding one more? Got a '91 TT throttle body that I would like to have done.

I can do it, The only caveat is that I won't powder coat the FIAV portion. There are seals and plastic in the FIAV valve that could have issues with the heat that powder coat cures at. So I'm no longer coating the FIAV portions. They get cleaned up really well but not coated.

The rebuild would in include the following:

    Complete disassemble
    All parts cleaned
    Hardware cleaned in ultrasonic cleaner
FIAV screws replaced with SS allen head bolts
Throttle plate screws replaced and restaked
    Mil-Spec Shaft seals
    New FIAV gasket
New Idle set screw, o-ring and plug
    Etc...

You'd be looking at $150 + return shipping for coating and rebuild. With how slow shipping is and the holidays coming up. It would be after the 1st before I could get it done and shipped back.

Do it. I have some of his powder coating work and it's good. I'm sending more parts for him to do early next year.

That sounds good to me. I'm gonna wait til after the new year to do it.

International shipping from Canada can be a nightmare around this time of year.

I'll contact you in a few weeks.

    Thanks again for replying .
