    Comparing a Single to Twins

    Any compressor map geeks in the house? I'm trying to get a grip on how the stock 9b's would compare to a relatively small single. I say small since it seems most single turbo set ups are 70+mm monsters. I happen to have a turbo left over from my Integra part out, it's seen minimal use and has fresh ceramic coating...so of course I'm pretty tempted to put it to use. That, and I'm into fab work anyway.

    But, if its a wash or worse from a flow stand point then why bother. I've found the maps for the 9b's and it seems like they're rated for....360cfm each? Does that seem right? But at 20+psi which is more than I plan to run. 277ish at 15psi. I'm really thinking more like 12psi....not that psi is relevant. I should say I'd like to see 320-340awhp.




    What I have sitting in the shop is a Precision SC34 t3/to4e with a .63ar hot side and .60 compressor 57 trim wheel. I'm struggling to find a map for this, which is strange. Seems like I've read the flow rating to be 800cfm.....but, not sure.

    Looking for input on this comparison. Basically is this turbo too small for a single setup?

    You could replace just the front 9b with your precision and keep the rear 9b. It'a lot of fab to join front and back. ..

    Yeah, a sequential / series set up might work well. I'm unsure of running different turbos without joining the manifolds... seems like that would create some tuning challenges with the banks having different exhaust flow. Although I'm new to MAF tuning, my honda experience has been all MAP tuning with Uberdata / chrome. I've played with HP Tuners on GM motors, but nothing FI, yet.

    There was a guy a few years back who was running twins + supercharger. Overall though, I tend to lean towards popular opinion that V engines are for twins and I engines are for singles.

    Yeah, I won't be spending any super charger bucks. Somehow I can't seem to find any flow maps for this turbo, even though it should be (was) a really common size back when I was into the Honda thing.

    I found all the maps over on stealth316.com. But none are t3/t4 57 trim .63ar.

    for the money you'd spend fabbing up a t3 into your setup, just upgrade to 13/15/19T's get a fuel pump and injectors and be done with it.

    I get that. Fab work is my main interest though. I don't need much of an excuse.

    Seems like I just read about the stock injectors being good to 399hp....that was probably crank though.
