    Mrs Kill Daily Driver Ideas?

Seeking ideas/feedback for a Daily for Mrs. Kill.

She wants solid interior, no cheap plastic rattle trap crap. Preferes 4 door, but not a must. Could be suv-ish if mileage is in check. FWD, or AWD for the winter roads here.

Going to be a used car purchased through dealer auction. Something pre-2010 (price) until my truck is paid off when we can buy new.

    On her list so far:

    Acura
    Mazda
    Jeep suv
    Scion TC
    Jetta
    WRX

No BMW, Mercedes, Volvo... (I have a parts wallet killer already)

Ideas, and what to stay away from?

Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!

If you don't want plastic & rattles, don't buy ANYTHING made by GM. Maybe a used Rogue AWD, Tucson AWD, or Outlander AWD. I can't speak to the SUV market as a whole--because they're 99% grocery-getters never designed for Off-Road duty, and I'm entirely partial to my kick-ass Isuzu. That said, most of what was good in cosmetic design for Isuzu is not at Nissan--so that's where I'd look first. Sadly, there's really not a lot of imagination or design in the SUV market--though it's par for the course. I noticed when I parked my rental Hyundai next to a Honda & a Toyota--that if none were badged, you'd have a hard time telling any of them from the others. SUV's aren't much different.

That's like the WORST thing in the world for a guy who likes driving a 3/s because it stands out.

...Or maybe you could convince her to drive a Charger AWD.

    LMAO
Maybe a used Rogue AWD, Tucson AWD, or Outlander AWD
I showed her these, and her reaction was to puke... Heh!

Charger is out as I am aquiring from auction, and the price is likely above where I want to be.

She liked the Vehicross, but again this will be at auction, and not likely to see one.

She is all moist over the WRX.

Adding an FJ to the mix, most likely in the 2007-8 range. Shitty mileage, but she likes.

Ah, missed the part about dealer auction. Be VERY careful. Sometimes you find gold, sometimes you find crap. FJ's are good. But then again, most AWD these days are--because they are all using newer generation BW systems that were first pioneered in the VX.

I didn't see what your price range is, so it's a bit harder to gauge. Is she more partial to cars (unibody) or truck-style (frame on chassis)? Minivans? Explorer sport trac? Edge? Fusion AWD (or Mercury Milan)? Focus sedan?

Don't count chargers out. That's just the V8 AWD one. The V6 AWD ones are in the 10k range or under--and of course, better MPG.

Lexus LS430. Older ones are affordable, comfortable and frustratingly reliable.

I've had really good reliability and a good amount of luxury with my Infiniti FX 45. Gas mileage sux though, but it's probably better in an FX 35, and 35's are cheaper too. Then there's the EX 35. That was always known as the "chicks" Infiniti SUV.

The Lexus is a bit on the prudish looking side say her, lol. She's looking for more sporty look. Keeps coing back to the damn wrx.

FX45 is a posibility, she needs to stew on all the options.

Going to present her with an 13' Acura ILX and see what comes of that.
