ODB2/Chrome Bluetooth/WIFI display - What options are there?

So I'm making the move to Chrome and with that I will now have an ODB2 plug in the 93TT which will open my options up for data display. On the old set-up I was running a Scanmaster 3 and loved that I always had my WBO2 and Knock counts right in front of me. I really want to keep that that type of display but step it up to something more modern.

I thought about the BlackStealth LCD but it has a bunch of options I have no need for or that Chrome is able to handle on it's own. So it is sort of overkill just to display data from the ECU.

I'd like to be able to plug in an ODB2 dongle and display it on either my Iphone or Android tablet. What options do I have out there? I started looking but not sure what will work and what will not. Most of the Apps I have seen are more for Gas milage and resetting code. Didn't find much on displaying Knock or WB02 readings. Anyone currently using anything like what I'm after?

    Check it out on Youtube!!

There was murmer of LCDBC adding a bluetooth addition to it so you could keep it plugged in.

Saw that and kind of think it's a rip off.... Why would they just not sell the software and cable. Thinking it is because they had to hack the Kindle to get the software loaded. If they just sold it as a software cable package, or made it so that it worked with Wifi/Bluetooth then I'm sure they would sell a ton more being as it should be a 1/4 of the price they have listed currently.

the LCDBC has too much stuff I would never use or is redundant to what I already have. I just need something I can display data with and nothing more.

His addition of the bluetooth addition would transmit the OBDII info. This way you can have his device connected and see the ECU info on a smart phone / tablet. Right now you need to choose, the LCDBC cable connected or a OBDII bluetooth dongle. His addition would be like have both connected.

Agreed, hoping this happens. NO reason to not have the Android option.

I think you are missing what I;m saying. I don't want the LCDBC....lol Everything it can do I can do with the chrome except display info. So no point in buying something where 90% of the features I won't use. I'm only looking for something that will display the data and nothing else.

I don't need to log and display at the same time. If I'm logging then I can see everything on the laptop display. I'll only be logging when I tune.

I just need an option for an ODB2 display. It has to display WBO2 and Knock like my Scanmaster did.

So been doing a lot of research online and it looks like what I need is an ELM327 dongle which supports the ISO 9141-2 (5 baud init, 10.4 kbit/s) that our ECU's us and an app like Torque to be able to do the display I want to do. Right now I am trying to figure out which dongle to get. they have a bunch out there ranging from like $10 to $100. Tons of the $10 blue mini's but they all have hit or miss reviews online.

What I have found is that the bluetooth ones seem to not be able to connect to IOS devices. Probably some lack of Apple support for their Bluetooth So they make WIFI ones to us for IOS devices. Kind of sucks as I was hoping to be able to swap back and forth with my Iphone and Android tablet.

From what I have found with the Torque app you can add in custom PID's such as Knock Sensor and build custom displays which is great. it's only for the Pro version with is like $5. So I'll need to find the PID's for all of the sensors to build out my custom display.

I might bite the bullet and pick up a cheap $10 dongle and see how my luck works. If anything I have to return it or I'm out of $10...

So I got the dongle today just to realize the Android tablet I have does not have bluetooth...WTF!!!! Guess I should have checked that before getting the bluetooth dongle...LOL I ordered a WIFI ones to use with my Ipad/Iphone. Should be here the same time the Tatrix cable gets here. Thurs or Fri. I'll just hold onto the Bluetooth one to use with my Truck and Laptop or whatever else I may need it for.
