So... I have great news!! I figured it all out and it works.

The big issue is tracking down a Dongle that actually works. I went through about 4 different ones before finding one that worked. 1 was bluetooth which don't work with IOS due to Apple Bluetooth protocol not being supported. The nest two I ordered were Wifi dongles. The first one the guys sent a bluetooth on accident, refunded me and told me to keep it, the next one just did't work. Assuming due to our Baud rate as it works on my 2010 F150. The last one I got was more expensive than the rest at $32.00 (rest were all in the $10-15 range). iKKEGOL WiFi adapter.

Amazon.com : iKKEGOL iCar 2 Mini OBD2 OBD II WiFi Car Diagnostic Scan Tool for IOS iPhone iPad PC with Switch Auto Sleep(Black+Blue? : Car Electronics

Shipped fast and nice packaging. You can tell the instructions were originally not written in english...LOL

I downloaded OBD Fusion for my Iphone. It cost $9.99 and is very robust I think for the cost. It does allow you to add in custom PIDs to log other things which I am still working on figuring out. Big thing is adding Knock to them as OBD Fusion does not have it as a standard selection. So I'll need to get with Greg E and try and figure it out.

I will probably download Dash Commander also as it seems to also be a great one to use.

You can check out the two types of software here:

More to come as I figure more things out.

Looks like both apps are available for Android as well. Nice that the dongle uses WIFI so you can keep your handsfree and Pandora working

I don't have a ton of time now that I'm in the office 5 days a week. So progress has been slow. I got DashCommand installed and connected and I really like the options it has. The gauge skins are awesome! not seeing anything that allows custom PID's to be added to need to dig deeper on that one. I'll post more as I get more together.

Here are some of the basic graphs and displays it comes with. Car was not hooked up when I screenshot these.

The sample rate on OBDII I think is too slow for useful logging.
