How do you change the transmissin speed sensor?

I need to know how to change my transmission speed sensor with the tranny still in the car. I know you have to take the bolt out and everything but how do you get the sensor itself out the easiest? Any help or direction to a walkthrough would be appreciated. Thanks for your help with this possibly simple question

Wiggle it, they tend to stick in there. The gear might hold on if the gear is all trashed in there, but it should still pull out.

it seemed the gear was still good... it was the sensor itself that started smoking!!!

Better off replacing the whole thing. I had that happen before and at first I just replaced the top half, then later on the center section that the gear spins that sends signal to the speedo stripped out.

Where can I find the rest of it?

Once you get the whole thing apart, how do you separate the sensor from the other part?
I may have to do this as money is tight right now

You can seperate it, but you can't buy it seperately. I just had another top part laying around from a 1g that had a different gear.
