The bracing is the 4 small L shaped brackets that mount to the side of the 2 bolt blocks, 4 bolt blocks don't have them.
The stock EGT sensor may be related to the active exhaust system, off hand. Guess on my part.
I would imagine with this build that the biggest concern would be the torque pushing the girdle, but likely wouldn't be a real concern on just 15Gs.

I can tell you guys now, the EGT sensor in the GTO isn't any help for tuning or safety, it's purely there to indicate when the catalyst overheats.
