I found the forum thread, but that's better I'll get new tie rod ends as you did they're pretty cheap anyways.

I think both these part numbers works for the boots anyways:

MB501711

As I found out,if you have larger hands you will need to find a friend with small hands to get the boot into place.(Thanks again JeremyC) I can not even get finger tips to then end of the rack where the boot has to go.

Just did mine last week. Get a sharpie and mark the lock nut, tie rod end, and the threads on the inner tie rod. Then count the number of turns to remove the outer from the inner. Between these two things you should be able to get away without getting a new alignment. You can then exchange the boots.

It is tricky to get the new boot on the rack. I did the drivers side which appears easier. I just pushed the edge of the boot on the hardest to reach spot of the rack, then bunched the rest up and wiggled it until it popped on. You can gradually work circumferentially from where you first got it on the rack. Never tried the condom method but that is a good idea as well.

I got my boot from Rock Auto for like $12.
