    Pork chop recipes

So, I have been tasked with cooking dinner tonight. While normally not a problem, pork chops were what was set out for me to cook and they are not my area of expertise.

Recommendations? I had figured on marinating with a teriyaki style sauce and then cooking on my foreman grill and service with a side of rice, but not sure if there's alternatives or maybe breading and frying like a country fried steak.

    Endless options.

In my travels I have seen them done the following ways:

Grilled, brush on BBQ sauce after
    Baked, no sauce usually
Boneless, Breaded and deep fried, usually eaten as a sandwich, no sauce
Bone-in, Slow cooked like ribs, lots of BBQ sauce

The deep fried option is my least favorite, but it is like pizza.. even the bad ones are OK. I've done boneless chops on the Foreman too. It works.

I usually season and soak in Italian dressing. Sometimes I'll add Worcestershire sauce to the mix to for a little kick.

I then dump everything into a skillet and cook it that way.

Appreciate the tips, Stealthee I leaned more your way with it. Soaked in italian dressing for about 20 minutes, threw a bit of extra thyme and basil on there before cooking on the Foreman, turned out pretty tasty.

Think next time I may try to do it with a teriyaki bbq sauce style perhaps.

Yeah, there are so many different ways you can make it. I made pork chops one evening when my niece and nephew (4 and 8 year old respectively) were at the house. I think all I did was put some pork rub I had in the spices and cooked it in water on the skillet. Both kids always say they don't want/don't like various meats that are made, but I had them both try it and they both loved it. My nephew had this look of disgust that I was making him try it, until he chewed twice, then smiled wide and nodded in approval and gave me thumbs up. My niece liked it too.

Asked them if they wanted a piece and they both did. They both asked for more when they were done which never happens either.

Sometimes if I want something different I will just use Google and see what sounds good. That's actually how I found one of my favorite mixes that I normally use for steak.

It's a mixture of barbque sauce, italian dressing, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic pepper

Sounds about like what I use when I make BBQ pulled chicken in the crockpot. We need to get another recipes thread going, or revive the old one.

Two of my favorite pork recipes:
    Cedar-Smoked Pork Loin | Weber.com
Chef John's Grilled Jerk Pork Tenderloin Recipe - Allrecipes.com

Both are work well with multiple cuts of pork and the jerk recipe is great with chicken.

You have to use real pork chops, and not the lean tenderloin cuts, but it's hard to beat them fried in an iron skillet. The perfect side is thin sliced potatoes and onions fried in another iron skillet. Ironically my second favorite is the lean loin chops grilled with just salt and pepper with steamed asparagus for a side.
