I just completed my ATX TT conversion and i'm having electrical issues. As of right now, I have thrown a new:
MFI Relay
Starter
Battery
Ignition Switch
ECU
Misc fuses
I have only been able to start the car once. It ran great. That was after a new starter and battery. For some reason, the ECU and fuel pump will only kick on if I jump a wire across the two relays in the MFI. I also need a washer shoved into the top relay in there to keep the ECU/pump running after I put the key back to "run". After trying that first start, the starter had no response. No power to it at all. I replaced the ignition switch, still nothing. A few tries later it cranked over, (and I forgot to jump the relays for ECU/pump power). I might have fried the starter trying. Either way the starter only works occasionally, and the ecu needs to be forced on. What would be causing this? I did have to splice wires in the ecu harness to put the TT ECU in, but the car ran fine. Would it be something silly like the alarm or the park/neutral sensor? Another not, I have a red wire from a single plug under the fuse box.(No idea where this goes). Also, the car did not have a starter relay in the fuse box when it was NA (still ran fine). Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I'm also located near LOWELL MASSACHUSETTS if anyone local wants to check her out.
The only way I have been able to KEEP the car on is by jumping the MFI relay, not the cam sensor. The starter itself and everything works fine. It just only works periodically. One weekend nothing will click and nothing will move, the next I can jump everything and the car can start. Another thing to add, when I hook up the battery there is VERY little spark between the cable and the terminal, almost none. Everything still gets power on the car though. Also when you hook up the battery something in the fuse box usually ticks, not anymore.
