Fastest way to replace alternator?

I see thanks for all the responses. I'm going to try this next week when my alternator comes in. I'll see if I can get away with leaving the wheel on by using crows feet.

It takes 20 minutes, tops. Pull the radiator with the fans on it, the charge piping, alternator wiring, then the alternator with the bracket. Install is opposite of removal, with the added 2 minutes to tension the belt.

Hello, just an update.

Removing the radiator wasn't an option. My silicone radiator hoses were too stiff to adequately twist the radiator out. I ended up removing the bracket and the fan to get the alternator out. I opted to just lay on the floor instead of taking the wheel off. I guess I saved myself the hassle of torquing the wheel back on :P

Water under the bridge now, but you disconnect the hoses from the radiator to remove it.

Haha I really didn't want to deal with coolant coming out or having to fill it back up. I was a little disappointed because I saw how easy removing the radiator would make it. Oh well. I took out a "Mando" alternator and put in a remanned Denso one. Hopefully this one lasts me for a long time and I won't have to deal with it again!

As long as the Denso one has been refurbished with decent parts ypu shouldn't have any problems (Japanese quality!)

Denso is OEM, been running one for years
