I do a lot of lerking and not much posting, But lately I have been gearing up for a rebuild of my fuel system. In a feeble attempt to fix it last fall I got a little gung ho and made a mistake or two...
So I started on a journey to get this fixed, and in the end Im just about going to replace the whole fuel system. I dont feel like dealing with rust, and I really only want to do this once lol
My plan starts in the tank, and I plan on getting started in a couple weeks. So far I have the kit from Fabberge and I know its not complete, I just dont know exactly what else I need and if I even can get it seperately.
I think I know what I need, but I would like to have as much as possible ready before I pull the old one. I need to get the bracket and the bolt that go on the bottom of the fuel pump. I need to get a fuel level float thing, and the wiring that goes on top, Id rather not try to reuse the setup above.
I did notice on the underside of the top plate that all but one of the bolts had an insulating washer the other one looks like this? Is that ok or should I swap it out somehow?
And then in going thru all the parts I found this little guy, its very tiny, the hole is about the size of one of the post nuts, and I have not been able to find any information about what it is... Extra metal in the bottom of the bag? or something I should know about?
As I end almost every post, I thank you in advance for any adivse or input you can give me. Im sure there is info Ive left out and more Ill have to ask later.
Thanks for reading and Have a great day!
