I'm very anal about the tires, I'll replace all four before running two half worn out with two new ones.

If you rotated 4 matching tires like you SHOULD be running--then that's a non issue anyways. Unless you get a flat.

I've been rocking 275/40/17 Front and 315/35/17 Rear for about 3 years now with the only issue being 5mm spacers for the front.
