I don't think I have those to get rid of but I might have a plenum for a smoke stack or something.

Pretty rough ATM, but did get the legs leveled properly. Need some more steel to cross brace them for better stability.

Picking up cedar tonight probably for making the platform.

Lid is more or less laid out. I plan on using a stock (gutted) rear precat for an exhaust stack. Paul if you have the extra intake manifold I may take it and use it as a way to throttle air flow inside the grill.

Handle I may just have to make up, don't want to do the camshaft in retrospect because its be metal and anchored to metal. Just seems like a good way to burn myself. I'll figure something else out for it.

Saw this at a hardware store today..pretty similar to what I'm building..price tag: $499. Plus tax

My total costs at this point are just shy of $70.

Basic design is done. Need to take care of the grating on the inside for the charcoal to sit on, cut out a flange for the ash to dump out, and rig up an air intake system. At the moment, I've got a 1G OEM rear precat welded to the side as an exhaust vent. Ugly as sin welding on it since its super thick and the drum is super thin.

I may try to repurpose a lower intake manifold I have with stripped bolt holes. Weld an adapting piece to the drum, then bolt the lower side and just rig up an opening and closing mechanism for the runners, use it for the air intake.

Going to see what I can rig up for a handle..I realllly want to use a camshaft I have laying around, but not sure how I could attach it to the drum without welding it, which would make for a really hot handle. Debated about using an old 5 speed shift I have laying around, undecided though since that's more likely to be sellable than a rusted up cam.

weld the cam to some valvesprings and bolt the valve springs to the barrel. reduced heat transfer from the spring.

I think I have 2-3 lower intakes if you want one or do you mean the plenum?

I've got one lower intake I figured I'd try to use. An NA plenum would be the alternate idea since it the top could be removed to give a lot of airflow when fully open
