Ive got an IPS quad on the car...gen1..no cats...its the loudest you can get. My car very rarely shoots out a backfire and when it does....it sounds like a bomb firecracker went off. I'm not looking for the bomber type noise consistently, however I would like to get a bit more snap crackle and pop blurble under decel consistently. I've also got DR street 272 cams.

So whats the verdict, can it be done via chrome? Greg?

    another video for you guys...

well...looking in ecu flash I don't see any type of decel enrich/enlean parameters... Only one there is a decel fuel cut resume RPM offset...which I don't think is what I need.

Install a carb and distributor, then it'll afterfire and spit flames all the time. Fuel mileage will be shit though.

Having the injectors keep firing full time pretty much eliminates the entire reason for port fuel injection in the first place, since you'll make more HP dumping your fuel in upstream.

Ricer question---how do I make exhaust 'pop' and backfire during decel w/chrome

    Okay ricer Nomie
    Option 1 buy an rx7.
Option 2, if you can find it, Turn off fuel cut on decel. That should do it. If not, also add a little fuel in the decel load cells. You'll likely only be in those cells when letting off the gas anyway and pull major vacuum so it won't affect your cruising tune.

If it still isn't ricer enough, pull timing in those cells. If your exhaust is hot, you add fuel and remove timing, it will pop and flame.

when the BISS went missing from my throttle body, my car would do it all the time on a single-shot exhaust.

I haven't seen any type of setting to add or disable fuel during decel..

However..the other option like youre saying..take a datalog while decel, see what fuel/load cells i Hit, and add fuel and pull timing... ?

Im pretty excited to try this...its gonna catch a lot of people off guard. hoping i can make something work. .

If the ecu is shutting off the injectors in decel, it won't matter if you add fuel. Talk to Greg to see if there is an option.

On AEM, I have full control over fuel cut/decel...can adjust the rpm, tps and vacuum settings to determine when it cuts the fuel.

    get a safc2

You can have 2 saved tunes on it. So have one preset setting with 2-step and one zeroed out for your normal driving
