Ricer question---how do I make exhaust 'pop' and backfire during decel w/chrome

For the longest, I've wanted to do this because a friend of mine has a vr4 with ems v1 and its setup where while the car is decelerating in gear, right around 3000-2500 it pops and backfires and its been setup that way in the AEM EMS and I looove it.

Speaking with Bag-o-Chips, the guy who set it up on that particular car, here is what he had to say when I asked him about it..."You add fuel on the sections where there is high manifold vacuum and retard timing close to or around base timing in the same area" additionally, "it only works if you have fuel on deceleration"

So my question is, is this possible with chrome? If so, please enlighten me!

LOL... My car does that right now sometimes. It's a stock block with stock fuel, timing, ECU, etc. I can't for the life of me figure it out. I recently added a high flow cat which has muffled almost all of it. Timing has been checked multiple times and it dead on! Only started doing this on the new engine. IDK!!

    Check it out on Youtube!!

My friend's VR-4 does this. It got worse with more cam overlap after degreeing his cams. He had one of his injectors leaking on decel which contributed to it but after having them cleaned it still does it. None of the settings have been messed with in chrome. His car has always done it.

I'm not even on Chrome, Yet. Stock ECU and the old emanage is not even hooked back up. No need to yet on stock turbo's and injectors.

Now that you mention it I'm wondering if it is due to me using a mix of N/A & TT cams on N/A Heads... If I remember right I'm using TT cams on exhaust side and N/A cams on intake side. Research looked to show the N/A & TT intake cams where the same. I do have adjustable cam gear going on at some point so I'mm be sure to monitor things more closly then.

So if you want the pop then use N/A and TT cams...lol

I really don't think you need any fancy fuel enrichment. Your car probably does it now, and you don't even know it. All it takes is a free exhaust.
