Dyson is purple, so in Thadd's eyes it will always be superior . Kirby may not be the "best" vacuum, but it's sure better than a Dyson for the money.

If you like Kirby, fine...use it. I simply have not seen enough evidence to compel me to switch. Now if I enjoyed playing baseball with my vacuum, and I loved buying bags--then maybe I'd be interested in a Kirby too. But I hate buying consumables & I don't abuse my tools--so what I have is just fine.

Besides, my Dyson sucks more than

I haven't seen any mention of a rainbow. We used one and when the Kirby guys tried to showed me how much better the Kirby was they failed. I got it anyway because my wife didn't like messing with the water every time you need to clean up a mess. I like the idea of trapping all the dust in water, and not buying bags all the time. Just thought you guys needed something more to fight about. I really just needed to post so I could say I was part of the epic vacuum cleaner debate.

I did like the rainbow I tried. I had the same complaint about filling it with water. It did a fantastic job though.

Another potentially great post done in by poor spelling...
Ranked No. #1 in initial quality

Idiots, simply by being idiots, seem capable of achieving randomly bad things that are beyond the imaginings of sensible people.

    I've had a Rainbow for 20 years
Yes it's somewhat of a PIA to do the water bowl but even as old as it is it doesn't have that funky smell.
I bought a cheapy upright for when I need a quickie and after 5 uses it already smells.
The Rainbow tends to get hung up but nothing a good yank won't take care of.

I can understand using one that you've owned for many years, because, shoot, you own it so might as well. Today, there simply is no reason to buy a Rainbow. Just an incredibly tedious machine to operate.

Yeah, the cheapos take on smell quick. Got to have that HEPA filtration!! The only smell my Kirby ever makes is if I vac up a damn stink bug. But, those little bastards are the literal spawn of the devil. Man, I hate those things!
