Does the 6 speed use this bracket?

5 speed had it but the jdm 6 speed didnt. But the 6speed had been handled by someone and disassembled and it could be missing. the shifter cables seem really low without it.

do the 6 speeds use this square 4 hole bracket?

sure does, I don't know if the part # is different or not you better check, it holds the cables in alignment.

Are you talking about the whole thing or just the bottom part? Is that one from your 5 speed? I don't remember mine having the bottom part of that bracket.

No small bracket, just the upper part.

Thanks Paul. I was beginning to question myself as I don't remember that bracket either.

Interesting. I installed the bracket any way before seeing these comments. It definitely didn't fit 100% because when going in to first or second the shift shaft is so low that it kind of angles the plane of the bushing in the shifter cable.

But, it works and my car hasn't blown up yet. And to take it back out I'd have to undo all my piping and my t bolts are all rusted to hell.

Eh, I'll take it back out when I take it back out. Its operating fine both with and without it.

    Thanks!

Maybe the top part is different from the 5 to 6 speed. IDK

If it works and shifts fine I don't guess I'd sweat it much.

Well holy sh*t. I did a 6 speed conversion to my 1991, and my first and second shift like crap and I noticed the same thing when shifting into 1st, the cables seem high and are at a difficult angle. Of course I put my 5 speed bracket back on which does include the lower bracket. I'll take some pictures to show what Im talking about.
