3D Printed Interior Custom Electronics and Gauge Trims! SAFC, ARC-2, 52mm, etc!

    Howdy.

I'm a long time 3/S community member and a new independent vendor offering 3000gt 3d printed custom pieces.

Among the many things we are working on, we are currently ready to launch our custom radio trims and center vents for gauge and equipment mounting.

These trims are high precision prints and are 3d printed from high quality IC3D ABS filament that will fit your equipment like a glove.
These are made with careful thought. Our center vents house the hazard switch like OEM! It literally clicks right in! No modification or rigging necessary. The trim is form fit, it will fit nice and snug by pressing it right into place! No mounting screws or any hardware required.

Same with our Radio trims. The radio trims have two mounting holes on the top to mount your OEM clips. The trim clips right into place like factory!
We make full length housings to house your controllers to get a quality mounting solution. For example, the center vent that houses the Split Second ARC-2 has an 85mm housing to accommodate stock mounting screw holes. Again this provides a long-lasting solution with no rigging required.
Just about any combination imaginable is possible.

Our basic 3 gauge trims start at:
    Center Vent - $36 shipped
    Radio Trim - $46 shipped

Custom options generally add $10-20 depending on complexity
For example our SAFC 2 + 52MM Gauge 1DIN Radio Trim is $56 shipped.

We are currently taking orders for custom trims today. We ask for about a 2 week lead time for all items.
Most prints sold raw without any finishing. There will be some noticeable print marks on the face of all products. See pictures.

Have you tried using acetone with the ABS to smooth the prints? May make them more appealing.

NSFW video? 3d printed naked statue used as example.

I'm kind of interested in the one with safc, 52mm gauge and 1-din

But it doesn't come with the cf overlay right?

Those aren't wrapped. That is how the print looks on the flat surface.

Yes I have. In fact it makes them look much much worse. With the ash tray cup holder we have made it works really well. On these trims it greatly detracts from their appearance. It wanted to exaggerate the appearance a bit with the picture. From a 2 foot distance its nearly completely unnoticeable.

Part two to this problem is Acetone vapor baths take a long time and are highly inconsistent. It would add so much effort for me to try and get a product to the customer for a reasonable price if I'm trying to get a certain look with the acetone and the variability would be so high. At this point I have decided that it is best to leave them raw, for one, it looks better in my opinion, two I can offer them at a much better cost to the consumer, and three it always leaves the possibility to finish the product further up to the customer.

ABS can be sanded, painted, vinyl wrapped, or maybe even hydrodipped.

Thanks for the question! In fact I'll post a comparison piece of the unfinished and acetone vapor bath version. Hang on.

Edit: See it actuall makes it look sloppier in my opinion. Give me some time to provide better pictures of the detail. The lighting HIGHLY exaggerates it.

It would come exactly as it appears in the picture. Of course it could always be finished with any type of vinyl wrap or possibly even hydrodipped to get a carbon fiber look. We are looking into that a future offering.

Correct. What is interesting is the print is EXTREMELY smooth. Its definitely smooth enough that, if desired, it could be sanded and polished with a rubbing compound.
