Thread: LCDBC tach version, boost controller and ECU monitor

  1. #21
Update: The 0 psi to 36 psi internal pressure sensors are no longer available and discontinued by the manufacturer. However, I did manage to find new internal pressure sensors that read from (vacuum -11 psi) to 22 psi; this will satisfy 95% of the users here. For those that need higher boost, they'll have to go with an external GM 29psi pressure sensor, or greddy 43psi pressure sensor.

New inventory: 2 in stock with (-11psi to 22psi) pressure sensors.

Thanks for the quick shipping! Just waiting for my mac valve to show up. Glad I could finally scoop one of these up, sure won't miss needing the laptop to keep an eye on knock.

When will these be in stock? Is there a part number for the boost control solenoid that is needed?

I expect delivery of circuit boards in about a week, and then I can build them.

    Boost solenoid:
MAC Boost Solenoid Valve FOR Avcr Hondata S300 Kpro Vems Megasquirt Halltech | eBay
    Part number: 35A-AAA-DDBA-1BA

    Thanks for the part number!

Can I use this as a stand alone boost controller and wideband reader?

When it's put into "OBD1 mode", then yes it can operate as an stand alone boost controller with wideband o2 display. "OBD1 mode" doesn't require an ECU handshake, where as "OBD2 mode" and "MUT" does. Otherwise if you leave it in "OBD2 mode" or "MUT mode" you'll see the screen interrupted every 60 seconds as it attempts to make an ECU connection.

Is there any options to have your device plugged into the OBD plug and still have a bluetooth adapter connected as well?

I would like to have both your device connected plus have the ability to have speed and RPM ect, ect to the trackaddict app.

Unless your ECU can communicate OBD2, trackaddict app won't work. No at this moment you cannot have two OBD2 devices plugged in simultaneously. However, this gave me an idea. Take a microcontroller + bluetooth module and make it translate Mitsubishi OBD1, MUT, or OBD2 into ELM compatible OBD2 so it will work with all ELM compatible software out there. I recently replaced my car radio with a Android compatible GPS head unit, and was thinking it would be nice if I had a native Android app to display ECU data instead of going through an NTSC video route.
