    Winterfest Sebring, FL Jan 7th-11th

    Hey Guys,

So once again we (Maddog, Brentos, and I) are heading to Sebring for the PBOC Winterfest event.

I think I counted 10 GT3's already signed up as well as some Ferraris. They will also have "real" races that the big dogs from Grand AM/Tudor come to practice in. The weather will not be hot or humid. Mornings should be cool and day temps should only get up to high 70s. It will be so much nicer than the weather up here. DON'T STEAL THE ORANGES! It is a hefty fine."
That being said, Dan has signed up for 3 days of HPDE (fri-sun) and the endurance race fri nite. (9.5 hours of track time ) Brent is signed up for sat-sun. The website says there is a price raise December 1st FYI. It is pricey but it is a bucket list track for most of us racers. You will also get 2.5 hours of track time per day. Attached is the tentative schedule for your viewing pleasure.

They have an interesting classification naming system. 500 is beginner. 400 is better but still should have an instructor. 300 "Solo" is you are qualified to run by yourself. 200 is instructors??? 100 is super solo which means you should turn the stability control off your GT3 but I bet they don't When I was down there I got certified for 300 after the first day. I'm sure no one will have a problem doing the same. Maybe if you guys behave yourselves anyways!"

If you can make it and need help with planning and information, just let us know.

    As for the schedule:
Taking off in the truck and trailer Sunday December 28th from Quad cities for Sebring and staying in a hotel at least one night. Maybe stop in Atlanta to visit friends Monday night. Dropping the trailer off at a friends in Tampa around Tuesday the 30th. Brent will be meeting us in FL somewhere around this time frame if not sooner. Intend to celebrate Dan's and Brent's birthdays/New Years in FL and travel around for a few days till January 4th (Miami, Key West, etc who knows). At which point they will be working remotely/at Florida Rockwell from the 5-7/8th while I'll head back to ATL. January 8th we will head to the track and setup and prepare for the weekends festivities. If anyone wants/can come down early I say join us. It will be a blast!

Hmm... I'm off from the 7th to the 19th. Been wanting to go up to Sebring sometime to check out the track. It's only about 2 hours north of me. I may come up and root you guys on and take some pics, but I wouldn't want to race the car in an event like this. I can get away with it at the NG, but it's too much of a show queen for any serious racing.

It's only as serious as YOU make it. If you want to take it easy, you're OK with parking it in novice and enjoying yourself. Even driving around at 70% and taking in the sights is an opportunity not to be missed.

My only obstacle is distance.......and money, lol. Oh, and having a car to drive. I'm contemplating another rental car madness run.
