Maft with GM MAF or Maft pro with speed density? Tuned with chrome.

I'm looking to discuss the pros and cons of using a MAF translator and the options it provides because I'm running out of flow through an Evo MAF tuned with chrome.

Scott, curious how high HP you got before the Evo MAF started choking your system.

The maft and z06 maf have worked perfectly in draw through for me so far. The zero'd out numbers were even pretty much spot on with what the evo maf did. Maybe it was slightly leaner, either way I didn't have to make any adjustments from zero.

You know.........I do have a maft-pro sitting here......maybe I should throw it back on my car and totally wreck my tune, lol.

Tune with arc 2 and stock ECU.

Tune with Evo MAF and chrome.
See how the hp curve drops off with the Evo MAF. I'm thinking this is from the smaller inlet to the turbos being a restriction. Look at how much earlier the power comes on though with chrome. The car feels faster but has less peak power. I'm thinking a GM MAF or speed density with the maf translater will let the power climb to redline again?

Scott I think we talked at NG about using the Z06 MAF with the MAFT in draw thru. This is still the simplest setup to date.

Some of the cons don't show themselves in most cars but I see them every so often. Minor low throttle Enleanment (which can easily be tuned out) as well as high timing numbers (the MAFT sends less pulses to the ECU than the stock MAF so a tweak must be made there). None of these issues are serious and can be tuned out with enough seat time.

I'm not sure I observed the load issue. It seemed about the same, really about 10-20 points higher, but I assumed that was because the car is making more power.

I did see the low throttle enleanment, but had that even on the stock type maf, lowering the load threshold for open loop seems to fix that. Adding more to the maf comp table fixes it as well. Overall like you said, its pretty much a no brainer, you could tune it out in no time at all. Car is perfectly driveable with the baselines, not a mess like trying to tune speed density piggybacks like the EMU from scratch.

What are the cons / pros of z06 vs ls1 vs lt1 maf? I see everyone seems to like the z06 these days but back in the day I remember them being prone to leaks and the plastic end cracking.

In 3'' piping what is the benefit of coupling out to the large maf and then back down?

Draw thru is still the best setup so the larger MAF just fits better in the stock intake splitter.

Blow thru has mixed results. These sensors are essentially hotwire sensors and blowing on air on them doesn't seem to make sense. Especially chaotic hot air without any screen to help straighten the airflow for a consistent reading.
