    Catalytic convertor different between years?

Having a serious brain fart and can't remember if there is any real differences. I need one so I can pass emissions and found someone selling from a 93. I have a 95 (though I think I have 1st gen exhaust bits, it's hard to remember any longer to be honest).

So help me out here - beyond the extra O2 bungs, is there any real difference between years of exhaust and specifically the cat?

The rear pre-cat is different between the 1G and 2G cars. Its turned more on the 2G cars for the larger t-case.

If you are talking about the main cat, they are all the same from cars made 6/1/1992 - 1999.

I bet asa says that the part # is the same, but I wonder if the used ones are the same. OBDII cats are usually different.

I always wondered the same thing. FWIW, when I had a used OBD-II main [from a forum member] swapped into a friend's '93 VR-4, it ended up sitting slightly angled. Talk about weird. I was always aware of the rear pre-cat/DP, but this was different.

If you have a 95, you dont need the OBDII, plus the OBD1 should be significally cheaper. 96+ requires the OBDII.
