    New IRS Corvette World-Record for IPS -- 8.15 @ 173

We went down to St. Louis for the big LSx Shoot-out with our Single-turbo Z06. With a previous best of an 8.55 we were hoping to get the car down into the 8.20's like we thought it was capable of running on the same 17psi boost level. We added an AMS-1000 boost controller and swapped the slicks for MT Drag-radials and got the car corner-balanced and w/o a single pass or dyno pull we headed down.

Other than our first pass (8.7 @ 168) off the trailer the car was a bracket car:

    8.17 @ 173
    8.17 @ 172
    8.23 @ 172
    8.15 @ 173
    8.25 @ 168

Due to other cars having issues in the Drag-radial class (Fastest car in the class went 7.2 @ 209 and we were the slowest at 8.1 @ 173) we got a trip to the final round where we lost to LMR's Twin 88mm TransAm in a 7.8 Vs 8.2 race. The LMR car was the quickest in field by a large margin trapping over 200mph!

We beat the previous Corvette IRS-record of 8.3x held by Keith Berry in his C5 Z06 with our 8.17 passes and then the record pass of 8.15

We took many videos but somebody in the stands recorded one of the 8.17 passes:

    Jesus...

True street car, 17 psi, drag radials, 8.15....sooo ridiculous!

No shame in losing to the twin 88 LMR car. That car is a whole 'nother kind of "car".

I don't think "true street car" can ever apply to a car that can move that fast LOL

You should check out everything about that car. It retains everything a stock Corvette comes with(might not have a/c, I can't remember). Minus the skinnies, it looks basically stock...well and the laundry on the back. It sees TONS of street duty...love that car.
